Day (1) Imerovigli - Fira
First day in Santorini island sets in a meeting at the hotel. During lunch, we will discuss in detail the entire program of the 5-day photo workshop. In the afternoon we set out for an amazing day of photography throughout the island’s most popular villages, namely, Imerovigli and Fira
Day (2) Firostefani - Ia- Koloumbo
After breakfast we set out to Firostefani, lying over northern of Fira. The serenity and quaintness of Firostefani is what distinguishes it from its considerable larger neighbour. Without a doubt, the view from Firostefani is spectacular, offering another perspective of Santorini volcano, a whole view towards Fira and a breathtaking sunset in the evening. In the late afternoon we drive to the magical village of Oia, pronounced “Ia”. The village is situated on top of an impressive cliff, known for its charming houses in narrow streets, blue domed churches and sun-bathed verandas. Oia is certainly one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages of Santorini. It combines spectacular view, cultural interaction and an indescribable sunset, that is a perfect mix for an unforgettable experience.
Day (3) Pyrgos - Emporio - Vlychada - Lighthouse
In that afternoon we will explore the south part of the island. We will visit the so-called Pyrgos traditional settlement , which is located on a fabulous spot on top of a hill and displays incredible panoramic view of the whole island. Pyrgos used to be the capital of the island until the early 1800s. The village consists of traditional houses built around a Venetian castle, and the small streets follow the natural flow of the surrounding landscape.
Emporio is the largest settlement of Santorini located on the foothills of the Mount Prophet Elias. The village itself has a strong medieval character and most of the houses have been well-preserved.
Day (4) Sailing around the crater - Storytelling
After breakfast, we will depart for the southeastern side of the island in sailing boat. The marvelous dry climate and continuous sunshine create year around conditions which are perfect for observation, dazzling photographs under an extraordinary variety of natural lights and colours that give us the exceptional advantage of reaching the interior of the volcano by boat. So, instead of simply taking pictures of a stunning scenery, this photo workshop will focus on storytelling photography while walking on the volcanic land.
Day (5) Santorini Night and Astro Photography
This workshop will guide you through the art of night photography, and night sky photography providing all the knowledge you need to produce majestic night photos around the island. It begins with one hour introduction to Night Photography and Landscape Photograph and proceeds with photo shootings at 3 different locations around the island. Importantly, there will be a focus on capturing the stunning geological formations of Santorini island and the extraordinary night landscapes on the volcanic island including a session of architectural photography through an exploration in some of the most famous traditional settlements.
